What is animism?

Explanation

The Latin word "animism" is composed of animus (which means soul) and -ism. Animism is the belief that everything has a soul - not only humans, but also animals, plants, rocks, mountains, rivers, etc. The concept of animism and animists is evolutionist and can therefore be associated with evolutionists such as the English anthropologist Edward Burnett Tylor (1832-1917).
